Cup half empty

“but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant,
being born in the likeness of men.”
Philippians 2:7(ESV)

Cup half empty means to feel depleted with not much to give or you have a tendency to view things from a negative perspective.
Not too long ago we celebrated Easter and the Thursday before is known as Maundy Thursday. This is a special day of reflection to commemorate the Last Supper before Jesus was crucified. Just as Jesus did at that table years ago, a communion is offered and many times a ceremonial washing of the feet follows. Regardless of the rituals we perform, it’s a day to remember what Christ did for us all.
Philippians 2:7 (NIV) says, “but he made himself nothing,” but I love the ESV version because it says he, “emptied himself”. Jesus gave all He had for us so that we may have eternal life. As believers, we’ve been called to radiate the love of Christ on others but we can’t do that if we’re not equipped. We must take care of ourselves both spiritually and physically so we have something to give. Filling up on the Word of God each day clothes us with His righteousness to empower us into His likeness. Knowing what we know, we should never feel like our cup is half empty when we rely on the Holy Spirit to continually fill us. Jesus wants us to pour out ourselves on others by showering them with His unconditional love.
