“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion.”
Isaiah 30:18a

Everything’s coming up roses means things are going well or you’re experiencing success in life. This became a popular expression after Ethel Merman sang the lyrics in the play Gypsy.
The above flower is a Lenten Rose which blooms to signify the 40-day season before Easter which is known as Lent. The length of Lent represents the amount of time Jesus spent in the wilderness and for us, it’s a time of reflection and spiritual renewal. Often Christians fast and abstain from certain activities or foods during this time to intentionally draw closer to the Lord.
As the earth begins to wake from the deep sleep of winter, it’s a reminder for us to refresh our walk with the Lord. Just as the plants have to push their way through the soil to bloom, the restlessness stirring in us is God’s way to push us to do something amazing.
Imagine how great it would be if we knew every day would be coming up roses. A life without anything to worry with, stress over, or fear. No one can escape the pitfalls of life, but we can experience incredible joy when we allow ourselves to encounter Christ’s joy. Through the love of Christ, we can know real joy, inner peace, and eternal hope.
