"The Lord bless you and keep you."
Numbers 6:24

The Luck of the Irish became a popular saying during the gold rush in the USA when the Irish miners found gold. Their so called luck was due to their strong work ethic and determination.
I am part Irish, but the significance of this day was never taught from my parents. It's so important for us as parents, to teach our children about our heritage so the truth of why we recognize certain holidays aren't lost. Saint Patrick's Day originated with the Catholic Church as a Feast Day commemorating Patron Saint Patrick on Ireland. He was a honorable man who promoted Christianity throughout Ireland making sure faith and morals were taught by religious leaders and politics.
Shamrocks are associated with the Irish because there's a legend that St. Patrick would use the leaf of the plant to explain the trinity of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; three in one.
There's a beautiful Irish Blessing:
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind by always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rain fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand."
So as we celebrate St. Patrick's Day, remember why this is such an important day to the Irish community. It's a day celebrating a godly man who evangelized the gospel of Jesus Christ bringing countless people to know Him as their Savior.
