No rhyme nor reason

“But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered,

‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.’ ”

Luke 15:1

No rhyme nor reason is a phrase meaning something said or done is absent of common sense, there’s no logical reason for this to happen.

Each of us look at life through a different lens based on our expectations and experiences. But we have a choice on how we perceive what we receive from others. It’s easy to read a message and interpret it the wrong way, which only leads to more division.

It’s become quite apparent that we live in a “cancel culture”. If we don’t like what’s being said or what a product stands for, we no longer give financial support and are quick to say so. Social media is such an easy platform for individuals to get on a soapbox to voice their opinion in hopes to sway public opinion, all while sitting behind a screen. Some are known for excluding something from their life or no longer patronizing a particular business based on principle but this is perceived as being judgmental from the outside world. We have to be careful because perception is everything.

It made no rhyme nor reason when Jesus ate with scoundrels, cheaters, and adulterers, to the nonbelievers. He was scoffed and ridiculed because He was misunderstood. How can a man, calling Himself righteous sit among such people? Jesus did this because He was setting an example for us to follow. How can those who need Jesus in their life know who He is if believers won’t have fellowship with them? When our heart is aligned with God, we see things from a different perspective, calling us to love and sit among everyone, not just the one’s in our circle. We’ve been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the salt of the earth; meaning we’re set apart for the purpose to bring others into His flock.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kim Johnson.  I am a Wife, Mom, Sister, Friend, and Grandmother.  I have lived in Virginia for the past 25 years but my roots are from North Carolina where I grew up hearing idioms.  My children said I should write these things down so I took it to a deeper level and connected them to scripture to show how God has continually revealed himself in my life.

You may be wondering where "Blooming With Jesus"  came from. My inspiration came from my grandma who loved me unconditionally and spoke these idioms to me throughout my life. Through these I have been able to blossom in my faith and grow closer to God each day. My hope is as you read these you too will be able to grow in your faith.

I'll send one back
