The still small voice

"Be still and know that I am God;" Psalm 46:10

The still small voice within us is our conscience speaking to us but we often are so busy, we don't hear it or it gets pushed out of our mind.

Our lives have become such a flurry of activity, it's difficult for us sit in our quietness and seek God, but when our heart purely seeks Him, He pursues us and makes Himself known.

In recent days, many of us have experienced paralizing snow and ice leaving a wake of destruction. But before the ice came on the scene, we were blanketed with snow which creates an indescribale quietness around us. Only the soft flakes could be heard as they fell from the sky causing everything to look fresh and pure.

It's in these moments we should take advantage of this opportunity of a slower pace and replenish our spirits with His Word.

The verse which has really been speaking to me is from Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God;". This is such a simple statement yet so profound. If we want to know who God is, we have to be willing to spend time in His Word so we can know Him. This is why He orchestrated the Bible to be written. So we can learn about how much He loves us so we will in turn show His love to others.

The more time we spend with the Lord, the more pronounced the still small voice in our conscience becomes because that's the Holy Spirit working in us.

Hi, my name is Kim Johnson.  I am a Wife, Mom, Sister, Friend, and Grandmother.  I have lived in Virginia for the past 25 years but my roots are from North Carolina where I grew up hearing idioms.  My children said I should write these things down so I took it to a deeper level and connected them to scripture to show how God has continually revealed himself in my life.

You may be wondering where "Blooming With Jesus"  came from. My inspiration came from my grandma who loved me unconditionally and spoke these idioms to me throughout my life. Through these I have been able to blossom in my faith and grow closer to God each day. My hope is as you read these you too will be able to grow in your faith.
